The HOSMAC Foundation, an affiliate of HOSMAC India Pvt. Ltd. is organizing a one day conference on “Emerging Role of Information Technology in Health Care” on February 29, 2008 in New Delhi.

The broad theme of the conference is to look into new avenues in Health Information Technology like GIS Mapping, Telemedicine and Health Information Management Systems (HMIS) that can be customized and adopted in India for taking a step towards ensuring health care for all by 2020 by addressing issues of accessibility, affordability and information flow for appropriate decision-making process for preserving & promoting health and its determinants.

The core areas as mentioned above are proposed to be discussed by the panel of experts that will be a part of the conference. The broad areas will be explored further and the sub sessions will be planned accordingly. Each session aims to highlight the theoretical aspect and challenges and successes in implementation of the three technologies in the country.
